Customer service and satisfaction can be difficult to evaluate. One method of evaluating service level is through mystery shopping. Identify at least three types of hospitality business to evaluate for your mystery shopping activity. Customer nowadays are becoming more and more demanding as well as they are not shy away from making it clear on the level of service that they want and expect to have. With this happening, customer service and satisfaction can be very difficult and harder to evaluate. One of the methods used nowadays to evaluate customer service and satisfaction as well as the service level of the industry is through mystery shopping.

The mystery shopper makes is than reported back to the client, and used to improve their services. Mystery shopping can happen in all form for example phone calls, online inquiries and most commonly, in-person visits. However, good marketing brings customers in, but it’s great service that keeps them. Finding out whether a business is doing well or not can sometimes be difficult to figure out, but the imperative factor is to know what customers think is important, what they want, and what to improve if necessary and a lot of things. Base on the assignment question three hospitality industries should be survived and identified. After a place has been indentified a comprehensive report should be written evaluating the industry. The three hospitality industries that have been chosen are restaurants. This mystery shopping activity is done at three types of hospitality business that is in Old Town, McDonalds and KFC.

Each of the restaurant will be surveyed and access on few criteria namely the appointment procedure, cleanliness of the place, service offered, the standard of the restaurant and the staff. The reason why they are being access on this because these are what makes a good restaurant and what bring in more customers surrounding area and implementation of marketing activities. have all foreign workers so communication was a difficulty and secondly was put on hold for a well till they could get someone who could speak English. The restaurant staff the best they could to help and tried their level best to speak English but understanding what they were trying to converse was a little of a problem. The final thing that was access was the quality of food and cleanliness of the kitchen. This is also very important because poor food quality, whether it is caused by poor procedures or human error, is a costly and potentially deadly problem. Overall all of the three restaurants had delicious and scrumptious food that was mouth watering and pleasing to the tummy. All the restaurants had their own uniqueness and style of presenting. If it is a customer’s birthday they will give a extra plates, with a candle and sign saying happy birthday.

As per the conclusion all the restaurant did well. Hence all the restaurants had its own plus point and minus point as well each restaurants has its own uniqueness and identity. But there is still room for improvement from all three restaurants and there is a lot more things to learn on. Mystery shopping report would be recommended to highlight their efficiencies or deficiencies with a view to improving their overall performance in their future dealings with prospective buyers. This could be done at a meeting between your Sales Manager and your Consultant.
